About fuzzy-zephyr

We're changing how young people in Brighton learn about money.

Our Mission

Financial education shouldn't be an afterthought. It shouldn't wait until someone is drowning in student debt or struggling with their first credit card.

We started fuzzy-zephyr because we saw too many young adults entering the world without basic money skills. We knew there was a better way.

Our mission

Why Brighton Needs This

Brighton is an expensive city to live in. Young people here face high costs for everything from transport to entertainment. They need financial skills earlier than ever.

But traditional education rarely addresses these realities. Schools focus on academic subjects while practical money management falls through the gaps.

That's where we come in.

Our approach

Our Approach

We believe financial education should be engaging, not intimidating. Our programmes use real scenarios that children and teenagers actually face.

Rather than dry theory, we create experiences. Role-play, simulations, and practical exercises make concepts stick.

Every session is built around participation. Young people learn by doing, making decisions, and seeing consequences in a safe environment.

What We Believe

Start Early

Seven-year-olds can grasp saving concepts. Eleven-year-olds can understand budgeting. Fifteen-year-olds can learn about investing. Age-appropriate education at every stage builds cumulative knowledge.

Make It Relevant

We talk about things that matter to young people right now. Pocket money, part-time jobs, saving for games or clothes. Then we build to bigger concepts like university costs and first cars.

Keep It Practical

Theory matters, but skills matter more. If a teenager leaves our programme able to create and follow a budget, that's success. If they understand compound interest in principle but can't apply it, that's not enough.

Involve Families

Learning doesn't stop when the session ends. We equip parents with tools to reinforce lessons at home, turning everyday moments into teaching opportunities.

Who We Work With

Our programmes serve families across Brighton, from Hove to Kemptown. We work with home educators, supplement school learning, and support parents who want their children to have skills they might have missed.

We've taught hundreds of young people, from seven-year-olds taking their first steps with money to seventeen-year-olds planning their financial futures.

The Impact We're Making

Children who attend our programmes show measurable improvements in financial confidence and capability. They make more considered spending decisions. They set and achieve savings goals. They ask better questions about money.

But beyond metrics, we see something deeper: a shift in mindset. Young people start to view themselves as capable of managing money, not intimidated by it.

That confidence changes trajectories.

Looking Ahead

We're constantly developing new programmes based on what families tell us they need. Recent additions include sessions on digital payments and cryptocurrency basics for older teens.

Our goal is simple: every young person in Brighton should have access to quality financial education. We're working towards that one workshop at a time.
